# CBRN VR > CBRN VR (https://cbrn.in) is a virtual reality training simulator for CBRN (chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear) decontamination. It runs standalone on Meta Quest 3 / 3S headsets and trains two drills: vehicle decontamination (VDS) and personnel decontamination (PDS). Developed by Noventis Pvt Ltd, Pune, India. Sales: sales@noventis.ai. ## What it is - A VR simulator in which a trainee carries out a full decontamination drill with their own hands and is scored on every step. - Contamination is simulated physically: it persists where it has not been treated, water alone does not clear a persistent agent, and decontaminant contact time matters. - Protective clothing is modelled as a stack of layers; doffing technique is scored on every pull, and poor technique carries contamination onto the layer beneath. - Solo mode: an AI crew fills every other role, so one trainee can run a complete drill alone. Team mode: one Meta Quest 3 per officer, each in a seat on the lane, hosted by an instructor laptop over a closed local network. - Instructor station (desktop): lane console, course roster, spectator camera, results export (one row per officer per drill). - Every action is logged and turned into a score and an in-headset after-action review (AAR) with a timeline; the PDS debrief adds a kit-layout board with residual contamination on every garment. - No internet connection, no cloud account. Records are saved on the devices. - Five-minute VR familiarisation for first-time users; per-user comfort profiles. - Drills are authored as data and reviewed with serving CBRN subject-matter experts; layouts, step order, timings and pass criteria can be adapted to a unit's own standard operating procedures. - Voice guidance in English and Hindi. ## Training modules - [Vehicle decontamination (VDS)](https://cbrn.in/vehicle-decontamination): survey, pre-wet, apply decontaminant, hold contact time, rinse, monitor and release a contaminated military vehicle in a working decontamination bay. - [Personnel decontamination (PDS)](https://cbrn.in/personnel-decontamination): an eight-station detailed troop decontamination lane in which the trainee is the soldier — (1) gear decontamination, (2) overboots, gloves and hood, (3) overgarment removal, (4) outer boots and gloves off and across the liquid control line, (5) monitor survey with a spot-decontamination loop, (6) respirator removal, (7) mask decontamination, (8) reissue. Six lane rules are checked continuously; crossing the control line contaminated or removing the respirator before clearance is a critical fault. ## Who it is for Armed forces CBRN units; civil defence and disaster-response forces; fire and HAZMAT services; nuclear and chemical industry emergency teams; training academies. ## Hardware Meta Quest 3 or Meta Quest 3S per trainee. Solo drills run standalone on the headset. Team lanes add one instructor laptop as the local host on a closed Wi-Fi network. ## Contact - Demo and pilot requests: sales@noventis.ai - Contact page: https://cbrn.in/contact ## FAQ ### What is CBRN VR? CBRN VR is a virtual reality training simulator for chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear (CBRN) decontamination. It puts a trainee inside a working vehicle decontamination station (VDS) or personnel decontamination station (PDS) on a Meta Quest 3 headset, where they carry out the full drill with their own hands and are scored on every step. It is developed by Noventis in Pune, India. ### Which decontamination drills does it cover? Two today. Vehicle decontamination (VDS): surveying, pre-wetting, applying decontaminant, holding contact time, rinsing and monitoring a contaminated military vehicle in a working decontamination bay. Personnel decontamination (PDS): an eight-station detailed troop decontamination lane in which the trainee is the soldier — gear decontamination, overboots, gloves and hood, overgarment removal, crossing the liquid control line, monitor survey with spot decontamination, respirator removal, mask decontamination and reissue. Both run on the same procedure engine, so further CBRN drills can be added. ### Why train decontamination in VR instead of on the ground? A live decontamination exercise needs a vehicle, a water point, decontaminant, a full crew and hours of set-up and clean-up — and it still cannot use a real agent. In VR the contamination is real to the trainee: it persists where it has not been treated, water alone will not clear it, contact time matters, and poor doffing technique carries agent onto the layer beneath. A trainee can run the drill as many times as it takes, alone or with a team, with no consumables and a scored debrief after every run. ### Can a whole crew train together? Yes. In solo mode an AI crew fills every other role. In team mode each officer wears their own Meta Quest 3 and takes a seat on the lane — pump, decontaminant, monitor, station NCO and so on — while an instructor laptop hosts the session over a closed local network, with a console, a spectator camera and a results export per officer per drill. If an officer takes the headset off, the AI covers the seat. ### What hardware does CBRN VR need? A Meta Quest 3 or Meta Quest 3S headset per trainee. Solo drills run entirely on the headset — no PC, no cables, no internet connection and no cloud account. Team lanes add one instructor laptop as the local host on a closed Wi-Fi network. Records are saved on the devices. ### How is a trainee assessed? Every action in the drill is logged: the order of steps, time on each station, coverage of contaminated surfaces, decontaminant contact time, doffing technique on every pull, monitor results and any critical fault such as crossing the control line contaminated. The simulator turns that log into a score and an after-action review — with a timeline and, for PDS, a kit-layout board showing the residual contamination on every garment — that the trainee and the instructor walk through immediately, in the headset. ### Who is CBRN VR for? Armed forces CBRN units, civil defence and disaster-response forces, fire and HAZMAT services, nuclear and chemical industry emergency teams, and training academies that teach decontamination procedures. ### Does CBRN VR follow a specific doctrine? The drills are authored as data, not hard-coded, and are reviewed with serving CBRN subject-matter experts. Station layouts, step order, timings and pass criteria can be adapted to a unit’s own standard operating procedures. ### How do we see it? Write to sales@noventis.ai. We will arrange a demonstration on a Meta Quest 3 — in person in India or remotely — and scope a pilot with your training staff.
